headed by the Deputy to the Director General and Managing Director, Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development , visited the Sultanate of Oman within the framework of the Readiness and Preparatory Support Program of the Green Climate Fund, with specific reference to the projects, “Enhancing the National Adaptation Plan Process for the Sultanate of Oman”, and, “Low-Carbon Transportation Development in the Sultanate of Oman”.  The delegation, along with other invited experts, visited Sultan Qaboos University to discuss ways of enhancing future cooperation between the university, the Environment Authority, and UNIDO in areas related to climate affairs. A number of topics were discussed during the visit, including: opportunities for research collaboration to promote sustainable industrial development in Oman; capacity-building initiatives for students and faculty to support the development of skills and knowledge in sustainable industrial practices; UNIDO’s programs and initiatives related to environmental sustainability and industrial development; potential areas for partnership and collaboration; SQU’s role in promoting sustainability and innovation in Oman’s industrial sector; and potential areas for further engagement with UNIDO. The UNIDO delegation’s visit provided a valuable avenue to discuss further opportunities for cooperation between SQU and the organization.
