Registration for Afaaq Programme Starts

03 Aug, 2025 |

Sultan Qaboos University has announced the opening of registration for the Afaaq programme, designed to provide quality educational opportunities for international students wishing to study at the university, as well as for Omani students who have not been admitted to their preferred specialisations through the Higher Education Admission Centre (HEAC) system.

The programme offers a distinctive pathway to study across 57 academic programmes offered by various colleges of the university, excluding the College of Medicine and Health Sciences. It follows a tuition fee-based system and does not affect the number of seats allocated to students admitted through HEAC.

The university has set 17 August 2025 as the deadline for international students to submit their applications via the official website of the Deanship of Admission and Registration, in accordance with approved academic regulations and requirements.

Details regarding the application process for Omani students will be announced following the release of the first round of admission results through HEAC, with selection based on the published academic criteria.

The programme aims to admit 300 Omani and international students, thereby enriching the diversity of the university environment and strengthening SQU’s standing as a leading academic destination regionally and internationally.
