SQU Holds Training Program in Logistics and Supply Chain in Aviation Sector
In cooperation with Oman Aviation Group, Sultan Qaboos University, represented by the Center for Community Service and Continuing Education, hosted a training program on "logistics and supply chains in the aviation sector" from 16-19 December 2018. The program hosted 28 job seekers in logistics and supply chain specialties such as Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics Management and Airport Management.
The training program highlights the importance of logistics and supply chain management in the aviation sector and reviews local and global best practices in the aviation sector through theoretical presentations and field visits. The participants received the most valuable and up to date knowledge and skills in logistics management and supply chains.
Dr. Zahran Salem Al-Salti, Director of the Center for Community Service and Continuing Education at the University, said that the program aims to provide participants with the latest information and skills related to logistics management and supply chains that may help them compete for jobs in the aviation sector.
The program was given free and included a range of aviation related topics from local and international perspectives, as well as airline supply chains, airport management and airport security, as well as operation of commercial airports. The program featured a presentation on the Malaysian experience in the sector. A field trip to Muscat International Airport was also arranged for the participants to have a closer look at its logistics and supply chain operations.
