The 21st Business Week was launched under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Faris bin Turki Al Said, Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing at the College of Economics and Political Science. The event was held in the Grand Hall of the Cultural Centre.

The event is organised by the Business Society at the College of Economics and Political Science, in cooperation with the college’s specialised student groups. It aims to offer an interactive knowledge-based experience that discusses key contemporary economic issues and contributes to enhancing economic and entrepreneurial awareness among students and visitors. The Business Week also serves as a platform for deepening understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the business environment, and as a contributor to supporting development directions in Oman.

Commenting on the reasons for choosing the unified promotional identity of the Sultanate of Oman as the theme, student Said bin Nasser Al-Hinai, Head of the Business Society, stated: “This choice comes in alignment with Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to strengthen the country’s position in the fields of economy, investment, and tourism, while linking economic activity with national values by highlighting the role of Omani identity in marketing products, attracting investments, and reinforcing a sense of belonging.”
He added that the selection of this theme aims to raise students’ awareness of the importance of representing the Sultanate of Oman in a professional manner, preparing them to act as ambassadors of national identity across various sectors. This approach gives the Business Week a deeper dimension by combining economic aspects with cultural and social dimensions, while ensuring that student projects align with national identity and serve the Omani economy in innovative and contemporary ways.

The Business Week also includes several key themes, such as mental perceptions of the Sultanate of Oman and its economic advantages for investment and tourism, enhancing the value of local products, and the role of private sector partnerships in developing the country’s unified promotional identity.

In addition, the Business Week features a range of dedicated sections, including an exhibition of participating Omani companies, interactive zones, a section showcasing ideas submitted to the Business Competition, and areas for diamond and exclusive sponsoring companies. Visitors begin their journey through a visual entrance reflecting Omani identity, followed by a series of stations linked to national identity. They then move through interactive displays highlighting the pillars of the promotional identity and the foundations of Omani tourism, alongside success stories of local products and national initiatives that seek to translate concepts of sustainability and social responsibility into practical applications that support the national economy and strengthen the global presence of the Sultanate of Oman.

As for the Business Week Competition, it is an annual event held alongside the week, aiming to stimulate students’ innovative thinking in addressing real economic issues and challenges in line with the themes of the Business Week and the directions of the national economy. The accompanying carnival also features on-site student projects and a variety of activities.
