The Department of Art Education at the College of Education organised the Art Project Exhibition in the Student Services Centre Exhibition Hall, under the patronage of Professor Saleh bin Salim Al-Busaidi, Dean of the College of Education.

The exhibition served as a vibrant visual space for experimentation and inquiry, offering a sincere reflection of artistic journeys shaped through years of learning and practice. It featured graduation projects by students from the Department of Art Education, where ideas were transformed into tangible works that express vision and engage viewers through the language of art.

A total of 43 artworks were displayed across six artistic fields: textiles, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and decorative design. This diversity provided a wide arena for experimenting with materials, exploring varied styles, and embracing different expressive approaches, creating a rich and visually stimulating display.

In the textiles section, materiality was present as an expressive element carrying memory, texture, and temporal depth. Painting conveyed emotional and intellectual states through colour processing and visual composition. Sculpture revealed an awareness of mass, space, and movement, while ceramics presented a dialogue between form, material, and fire, merging aesthetic sensitivity with technical precision. Printmaking highlighted experiments involving repetition, symbolism, and surface, whereas decorative design reflected students’ ability to employ rhythm and visual organisation in contemporary forms inspired by heritage and reimagined anew.

The showcased works were notable for their conceptual depth and artistic clarity, addressing diverse themes related to self, identity, society, and the environment. Students presented these ideas through approaches that demonstrated artistic skill and the capacity to link concept with technique. Attention to design principles is also present, along with the relationship between form and content within each artwork.

More than a final display of works, the Art Project Exhibition represents a pivotal milestone in students’ artistic journeys, marking their transition from the space of learning to the space of conscious creative practice, reaffirming art as a human language of expression and influence.

It is worth noting that the exhibition reflects the outcomes of the Department of Art Education and showcases the creativity and artistic research of its students, contributing to the enrichment of the artistic and cultural scene and reinforcing the value of art as a tool for thought, beauty, and dialogue.
