Professional Ethics Strategy for Educators Launched
The College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) launched a strategy to promote professional ethics among educators. The launching ceremony was held under the patronage by H.E Dr. Saeed Hamad Al-Rubaie, Secretary General of the Education Council on 12 December 2019.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Wajeha Thabit Al-Ani, Chair of the Strategy and Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research at the College of Education, mentioned that the strategy aims to shed light on ethics in the profession of teaching it is considered as a human mission. It is essential to build human, psychological, social, cognitive, moral and personal values in the profession of education. “Professional ethics of those who work in the field of education forms the most essential component of it”, she said. Later, H.E Dr. Saeed Al-Rubaie, launched the logo of this strategy.
Hon. Dr. Raya Salem Al Mundhuri, Associate Professor, Curriculum and Instruction Department at the College of Education, delivered a speech highlighting the vision of this strategy for the period: 2017/2018 - 2022/2023. She briefed on the strategy’s mission and its objectives and the meaning of the logo. Asma Rashid Al Asemi, Principal Al Bayan School spoke about their project entitled "My School is My Responsibility” which aims to promote positive behaviors among students.
