15th Engineering Gathering: A Window into Arab Engineering Innovation

The 15th Engineering Gathering has commenced at SQU under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Adham bin Turki Al Said, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at the College of Economics and Political Science. The event is held at Al-Fahm Hall in the Cultural Centre.

The gathering brings together engineering students from Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia, with representatives from various institutions, including Sohar University, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (Muscat & Shinas), UAE University, Al Anbar University (Iraq), the International College of Engineering and Management, and the National University.

Covering multiple engineering disciplines, the gathering provides a platform for showcasing innovations and advanced technical solutions. Students present their projects and compete for various awards, including the Engineering Department Award for each specialisation and the Grand Prize for the best project. In addition, the event features an engineering exhibition in the Grand Hall of the Cultural Centre, displaying 32 carefully selected projects. The exhibition also includes interactive sessions and knowledge-sharing activities aimed at fostering collaboration among participants.

The event runs until 5th March, with scheduled activities taking place from 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM.
