Strengthening International Partnerships: University Welcomes Delegation from Chechen State University
Sultan Qaboos University recently hosted a delegation from Chechen State University, led by Professor Ismail Beikhanov, the university’s president. The delegation was received by Professor Salim bin Hamoud Al-Harthi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
During the meeting, both sides discussed potential areas of collaboration. Chechen State University offers a range of academic programmes in the fields of science, technology, mathematics, and natural sciences. Additionally, it provides programmes in information technology, business administration, medicine and health sciences, as well as arts and social sciences.
It is worth noting that Chechen State University (CSU) is a public university located in Grozny, Chechnya. Established in 1938 as the Chechen-Ingush Pedagogical Institute, it was renamed Chechen State University in 1995. The university has witnessed significant growth and now offers a wide array of academic programmes across 81 departments, enrolling approximately 17,000 students in various disciplines, including humanities and social sciences, education, linguistics, and natural sciences.
