The College of Medicine and Health Sciences is organising the Medical Education Conference, “Innovation and New Technologies: Opportunities and Challenges”, from 10 to 12 February 2025.

In collaboration with the Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges in the GCC and with participation from the Ministry of Health, University Medical City, the College of Nursing, and both public and private healthcare institutions, the conference will bring together health professionals and educators from across the region. The event will also coincide with the Committee of Deans’ meeting, making it a key occasion for medical education in the GCC.

Five distinguished speakers from the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands will share insights on the latest advancements and innovations in medical education.

The conference aims to provide a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas on cutting-edge educational technologies, assessment methods and professional development. It will focus on enhancing leadership skills, career growth, and wellbeing while supporting scholarships and fostering a network of educators dedicated to excellence in medical education.

Key discussions will cover a range of topics, including remote and in-person learning and assessment, faculty development, competency-based medical education, and the use of simulation, augmented reality, and virtual reality in training. The role of artificial intelligence in medical education, evidence-based teaching methodologies, and scholarships will also be explored. Additionally, the conference will address educator and student wellbeing, strategies to prevent burnout, the impact of social media on medical education, social responsibility in the field, and ways to enhance professionalism.

Representatives from medical and nursing colleges, university hospitals, and educational hospitals from Oman and other GCC countries will attend the conference.
