Students Showcase Skills in Civil & Architectural Engineering

The Civil and Architectural Engineering Society at the College of Engineering at SQU organized the Civil and Architectural Engineering Exhibition 2019 titled ‘Contour’ on Tuesday, 23 April 2019. The exhibition featured the latest projects and achievements related to civil and architectural specialization. The event held under the patronage of Eng. Khamis Salim Al-Souli, Chairman, Oman Society of Engineers, provided the opportunity for student to show their skills in organizing exhibitions related to their specialization.

The exhibition provided scientific and objective content for sustainable methods in civil engineering and architecture. It also addressed some of the latest technologies in both fields, as well as the future of Oman in construction and architecture for sustainable environment.  The exhibition shed light on modern technologies in the construction and design of underwater structures, mean seal level, bridges and suspension buildings, skyscrapers. Another section highlighted the possibility of buildings in Mars. The exhibition included scientific and practical projects related to architectural and civil engineering, and projects presented by companies specialized in the field.

In addition, the event featured an interactive corner for competitions, theatre corner and seminars. The Wooden Bridge competition, which assigns the participants to make a wooden bridge that can withstand the highest load, and an architectural competition were held on the sidelines of the event.
