International Students Explore Oman’s Cultural Heritage

The International Cooperation Office organised a cultural visit to ad-Dakhliyyah Governorate for a group of international students, reflecting Sultan Qaboos University’s commitment to deepening their understanding of Oman’s rich history and heritage.

 

The first stop on the itinerary was the Oman Across Ages Museum in the Wilayat of Manah, which presents various aspects of the nation’s history through the ages. The group then travelled to Nizwa, where they enjoyed an immersive experience at Nizwa Souq, renowned for its vibrant commercial activity and traditional and historical significance. They also visited the nearby Nizwa Fort, one of Oman’s most iconic landmarks.

 

The visit concluded with the students returning to Muscat after gaining valuable insights into Oman’s civilisation and cultural identity. Participants praised the initiative, describing it as a unique opportunity to explore the country’s heritage up close. They also highlighted the importance of such events in fostering cross-cultural understanding and communication among nations.
