The Centre for Preparatory Studies is set to host the 23rd International English Language Teaching Conference on 17-18 April 2025. Under the theme "Future-Ready ELT: Merging Language Learning with Critical Life Skills," the conference aims to provide a platform for educators to explore innovative approaches to language teaching, integrating essential life skills, mathematics, and IT education.
The two-day conference will feature distinguished speakers from around the world. Prof. Linda Bradley will deliver the opening plenary speech, addressing "Developing Critical Life Skills in Higher Education: Student-Centred Learning and Assessment for a Globalised Context." The session will take place in the Conference Hall and will be live-streamed to accommodate additional attendees.
Prof. Steve Mann will present the second plenary speech on "Video as a Reflective Tool for Teacher Development," highlighting innovative approaches to teacher training and professional growth in language education.
"This year's conference represents a significant evolution in our approach to ELT," noted the organising committee. "We are particularly excited about exploring the intersection of language learning with critical life skills, especially in the context of mathematics and IT integration."
With a total of 83 paper and poster presentations, as well as workshops, this year’s conference will cover a wide range of topics, including new trends in ELT, curriculum development, educational psychology, intercultural communication, and parental involvement in education. Additional focus areas include quality management, the research-teaching nexus, special needs education, teacher training, and technology-mediated instruction.
The conference will conclude with a panel discussion featuring the plenary speakers, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage in a deeper dialogue about the future of language education.
Registration and conference package collection will commence at 08:00 on Thursday, 17 April, in the Exhibition Hall. For further information about registration and updates, interested participants are encouraged to visit the university's official website.
