The Second Services Forum, organized by the Department of Customer Services at Sultan Qaboos University was held on 26 December at the University under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, the Vice Chancellor of SQU. The forum addressed the topic “digital transformation of customer services”.
Commenting on the importance of the topic, Amal Sulaiman Al Azri, Director of Customer Services Department, said that by organizing the event, Sultan Qaboos University seeks to learn from the successful experience of several government bodies and organization in digitization of customer services. The event discussed the challenges faced in digitization of customer services and the way to overcome them. Some of the talks addressed the issue of utilizing traditional and new media platforms to promote digitization of customer services in Oman.
Representatives from the Public Authority of Radio and Television, the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Royal Oman Police and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers shared their successful experience in digitization of customer services. The forum recommended to promote digitization of customer services with the aim of placing the Sultanate in the forefront in this field in line with its successful innings in e-governance and IT.
