The ceremony featured the “My Project in 3 Minutes” competition, which provided participating students with an opportunity to present their project ideas and research and innovation outcomes in a concise and engaging manner before the judging panel and attendees, reflecting their presentation and scientific communication skills.

Hajar bint Mousa Al-Balushi, from the Research and Innovation Authority, delivered a presentation on the “EJAAD” programme and its role in linking scientific research and innovation between the academic sector and the private sector. The programme operates through a collaborative multi-service central platform aimed at bridging the gap between the two sectors and promoting a knowledge-based economy in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The presentation highlighted the programme’s contribution to supporting national priorities, noting that its objectives align with 69% of the priorities of Oman Vision 2040 and contribute 34% towards achieving national goals. It also emphasised maximising the impact of research projects through several focus areas, including operational excellence, innovation and marketing, environmental impact and sustainability, knowledge management, and talent development.

The presentation also addressed a number of joint research project areas between the academic and private sectors, including digital transformation and artificial intelligence, oil and gas, energy efficiency, hydrogen technologies, environmental sustainability and emissions reduction, as well as water and wastewater management.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the winning projects and accompanying awards were announced, and members of the judging panel and organising committee were honoured in recognition of their efforts in ensuring the success of the exhibition and achieving its academic and organisational objectives.
