In a reflection of its values and mission in education, research, and community service, and in line with its ongoing aspirations towards leadership and innovation at both local and global levels, the University has launched its new visual identity under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, the Vice-Chancellor.

During the launch ceremony, Joukha bint Ali Al-Maamari, Director of Communication and Media, delivered a speech in which she stated: “If reputation is the structure, then visual identity is its gateway in both name and symbol. To make the picture clearer, the first thing each of us encountered at the University may well have been its visual identity.”

She explained that a team of specialists from the department had worked on the project over the past 12 months. The process began with defining the project scope, followed by an evaluation of the existing visual system to identify gaps and areas for improvement. This was complemented by benchmarking studies with leading educational institutions and a review of the latest developments in visual identity design. The outcome was the development of a comprehensive, integrated, and standardised visual system, embodied in a detailed brand guideline covering visual elements such as logos, typography, templates, patterns, imagery, and colours inspired by the University’s distinctive features.

For his part, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Zidi, Head of the Creative Content Section in the department and Project Manager, delivered a detailed presentation on the visual identity guideline, outlining its components and usage policies for the University staff. An online page dedicated to the visual identity was also launched on SQU’s website, providing easy access for staff to download and utilise all elements of the guideline.
