The International Society for Education through Art (InSEA) has selected Prof. Mohammed bin Hamood Al-Amri from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the College of Education to be its ambassador and representative to the Middle East and Africa from 2025 to 2027.
Al-Amri has previously served as Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Head of the Training and Field Experiences Unit, and Assistant Head of Department at the College of Education. He was also invited by the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom to write three chapters for a global encyclopaedia published in English.
In addition, Al-Amri contributed to drafting the UNESCO Arts Education Roadmap, the Seoul Agenda: Goals for the Development of Arts Education in collaboration with international experts (also issued by UNESCO) and the UNESCO Framework for Arts and Cultural Education, published in 2024. He has received several local and international awards, most notably the Edwin Ziegfeld Award for leadership and excellence in arts education, which is granted to distinguished contributors to arts education worldwide.
It is worth noting that the International Society for Education through Art (InSEA) is a non-governmental organisation and an official partner of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). Its mission is to encourage and promote creative education through art, design, and crafts in all countries. Through art, the organisation fosters international understanding across local, national, and global platforms.
