Young Patients Showcase Artwork at COMHS

05 Nov, 2025 |

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences hosted an inspiring art exhibition of the best paintings from the International Festival of Paintings by Paediatric Patients (IFPPP) at the Clinical Skills Laboratory.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Suad bint Mohammed Al-Lawati, former Minister of Arts, as Guest of Honour.

The exhibition, held on Wednesday and Thursday, 5–6 November 2025, features a selection of exceptional artworks created by young patients from around the world. It celebrates the creativity and resilience of children while raising awareness of the importance of emotional and mental well-being in paediatric care.

The IFPPP is an annual global initiative organised by the Health and Art Group (HEART), a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting the mental health of children through art.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN), a non-profit, non-governmental organisation committed to advancing science in the service of humanity. USERN connects researchers, educators, and innovators worldwide, with a strong focus on ethics, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It also provides opportunities for young scientists to engage with global experts through mentorship programmes, joint research projects, and socially impactful initiatives.

As part of this partnership, USERN and SQU have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening academic and research collaboration, promoting joint projects, and supporting initiatives that empower young researchers.

The exhibition offers visitors a meaningful glimpse into the healing power of art and the universal language of creativity that transcends borders and challenges.
