Honouring Third Implementation Plan Labs (2026—2023) Teams

Under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, the Vice-Chancellor, the University held a ceremony at the Conference Hall to honour the participants of the Third Implementation Plan Labs (2026–2030).

 

The event highlighted the dedication and collaborative spirit that shaped the University's strategic direction for the coming years.

Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for International Cooperation and Head of the Supervisory Committee for Strategic and Implementation Plans, delivered a keynote statement during the ceremony. She affirmed, “These labs were not ordinary workshops, but rather platforms where ideas converge, efforts are unified, and visions and energies align towards the goal of achieving excellence in higher education, research and innovation.”

She further emphasised the importance of strategic alignment, stating, “This experience reflects the importance of linking strategic and operational planning through precise performance indicators, to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of the University’s ambitious projects.”

Bushra bint Salim Al-Amri, Head of Planning at the Planning and Statistics Department, provided a comprehensive overview of the planning process. She highlighted the development stages of the implementation plan, the strategic projects and initiatives proposed, as well as the performance indicators and objectives formulated to guide execution.

 

The implementation labs saw the participation of diverse teams focusing on key areas including educational and learning enhancement at SQU, the advancement of scientific research, the gradual transition towards a pioneering university model, raising SQU’s international standing, digital transformation, human resources development, and infrastructure enhancement.

Participants from SQU represented 87.7% of the total, with 12.3% coming from other institutions. Collectively, their work yielded seven strategic projects, 44 initiatives, and 211 detailed mechanisms aimed at realising SQU’s long-term goals.

 

To conclude the event, His Highness the Vice-Chancellor honoured all contributors in recognition of their valuable efforts and commitment to the University's future.
