SQU 8th among Arab universities in QS rankings
Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) has secured the eighth position in the QS World University Rankings 2025 for Arab universities, out of 271 registered institutions. Among these, seven universities from Oman were included in the rankings.
H H Sayyida Dr Mona bint Fahd al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation and Supervisor of the project to enhance the university’s global ranking, said, “The university’s achievement of this advanced position is one of the most important pillars that highlight its strategic position and role among Arab countries.”
She emphasised the importance of sustained efforts and continuous improvement in applying best practices to maintain and improve the university’s global standing.
Dr Tariq bin Muhiuddin bin Muhammad Ghulam, Director of the project to enhance the university’s position in world rankings, said that the progress confirms that the university is moving in the right direction. “The most influential aspect of this ranking is communication with employers and researchers collaborating with the university globally,” he added.
Several key indicators for SQU have improved in the QS Arab University Rankings, including the job reputation index, the student-to-academic ratio, and the web impact index, reflecting the institution’s growing influence and reputation in the region.
