SQU and Dhofar University Sign Cooperation Agreements
Sultan Qaboos University and Dhofar University signed cooperation agreements that cover various academic and training areas, as well as supporting the establishment of a college of medicine at Dhofar University.
The first agreement, which included long-term support for the establishment of a college of medicine at Dhofar University, aims to set foundational and study plans, curricula, procedures, education and training systems and programs, and student evaluation system for the college to be established. It also touches upon setting the requirements of academic accreditation and quality assurance for the Doctor of Medicine program. This support will continue until the graduation of the first class of students. The agreement, also, stipulates the formation of joint teams of experts from both sides and the development of Interim indicators to ensure the implementation of the provisions and the achievement of the objectives of the agreement.
The second agreement, which will last for 3 years, seeks to promote the exchange of experiences, quality assurance, active learning in educational courses, the exchange of visits as well as the organization of joint activities at the level of preparatory studies.
The agreements were signed by His Highness Dr. Fahd bin Al-Julanda Al Said, SQU Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. Amer bin Ali Al-Rawas, Vice-Chancellor of Dhofar University.
This cooperation between the two universities comes within the framework of their keenness to promote academic and educational development in the Sultanate, which will help increase efforts to enhance the Sultanate's position in the academic and training field at the global level.
