Technical Forum Features Student Projects

The 9th SQU Technical Forum, organized by the Information Technology Society at the Deanship of Student Affairs, was launched under the patronage of Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Hinai, Environment and Community Services Advisor to the Vice Chancellor of SQU on 11 February. The event consisted of a number of student projects from University’s colleges and from other colleges and universities and two schools from Muscat.

The technical forum is a platform to display the projects and innovations of students who excel in technical and related fields . It seeks to present the joint projects among student groups within SQU and with technical groups outside the university. Further, it provides the targeted group with the required skills and knowledge to interact with technology, and to create channels of communication between university students, colleges, government agencies, academic institutes, the private sector and individuals involved in technology.

The forum was accompanied by an exhibition that highlighted new technology by way of student projects and technological innovations from participating institutions. Apart from SQU students, students from Higher Technical College, Nizwa University, National University of Science and Technology, Middle East College, Al Musanna College of Technology displayed their projects during the event. The forum was accompanied by three workshops for university and school students who are interested in technical fields and innovation.
