H.E Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt, visited Sultan Qaboos University. He was received by H.E Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bemani, the Vice Chancellor of SQU, Prof Amer Ali Al Rawas, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Community Service and Prof. Omar Mohammed Al Rawajfah, Dean of the College of Nursing, in the presence of H.E Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sarmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education.

The Egyptian delegation consisted of Dr. Mohammed Al Malahi, Senior Assistant of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Cultural Relations, Scholarships and Universities Affairs, and Mohammed Ghoneim, the Egyptian Ambassador to the Sultanate.

The two sides discussed topics related to higher education and research. In addition, they explored cooperation between the two countries by away of collaborative research, academic and student exchange programs.
