Huawei Oman’s CEO Highlights AI and Opportunities for Cooperation
Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for International Cooperation, received David Xu, CEO of Huawei Oman, at the University Council Hall. The meeting was attended by a number of SQU academics and officials, as well as Mazin bin Salim Al-Hinai, Public Relations Director at Huawei Oman.
The meeting explored areas of mutual cooperation and opportunities to strengthen collaboration between SQU and Huawei. Discussions covered potential frameworks for cooperation, training opportunities for SQU graduates, and collaboration in research and development.
David Xu highlighted Huawei's interest in providing training opportunities for fresh graduates and potential support for SQU in emerging technologies. He noted the rapid development of technologies such as 5.5G and 6G, while emphasising the growing importance of artificial intelligence across sectors.
The meeting also discussed SQU's plans to establish a technopark that would provide a platform for innovation and collaboration, with opportunities for companies to support the university and engage in joint initiatives.
Both sides also discussed preparations and suggestions for the planned SQU delegation visit to Huawei in China, including potential areas of cooperation and agreements that could be explored during the visit.
