Annual Student Trip to China to Begin on Friday
The 27th Annual Student Trip will commence this coming Friday, 21 August, bringing together university students who have excelled academically and in student activities, alongside distinguished international students. The trip is held annually in accordance with Royal directives, to honour SQU’s outstanding students.
This year, the students will visit the People’s Republic of China. The female students’ delegation, composed of 39 students, will depart this Friday and will be headed by Dr. Houda bint Juma Al-Balushi. Meanwhile, the male students’ delegation will depart on Sunday, 23 August, headed by Prof. Hussein bin Ali Al-Kharusi, with 38 outstanding students taking part.
SQU organised an orientation session to familiarise the students with the trip itinerary and requirements, introduce them to the supervisory team, and brief them on travel guidelines and instructions.
The trip also aims to provide students with enriching educational experiences through a visit to a prestigious university, while giving them the opportunity to explore the cultural and professional aspects of the country, in addition to visiting key tourist attractions and historical sites.
It is worth noting that the first student trip was launched in 1998 to Jordan, Syria and Turkey, in accordance with the Royal directives of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
