SQU and SQNA Explore Collaboration Opportunities
The Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy (SQNA) has explored opportunities for collaboration with the Department of Tourism at the College of Arts and Social Sciences in the fields of tourism and hospitality during a visit by an academy delegation to SQU.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in developing specialised human capital for the tourism and hospitality sectors. Discussions also covered ways to enhance the educational and training programmes offered by both institutions through the exchange of expertise and practical experience, with the aim of improving educational and training outcomes.
Both parties also reviewed opportunities for collaboration in student summer training programmes, as well as greater participation in lectures, seminars and educational events organised by the two institutions, fostering stronger links between academia and professional practice.
The collaboration forms part of the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening partnerships and promoting knowledge exchange in line with the needs of Oman’s labour market, while contributing to the preparation of highly qualified national professionals in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
SQU, represented by its Department of Tourism, continues to develop its academic programmes in line with labour market requirements, further enhancing the academic and professional preparation of its students.
