Three students from the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Statistics at the College of Science have won the Innovative Problem Discovery Award for their project, Ilmify: an AI-Driven Platform for Adaptive Learning, Smart Summaries and Academic Optimization, at the finals of the Second International AI in Education Competition 2026 (AIREA), held in Hong Kong.

The award-winning team comprised Noof Al-Shamli, Bara'ah Al-Aufi, and Maysoon Ambu Saidi, under the supervision of Dr. Iman Al-Hassani.

The award recognises the team's innovative approach to addressing challenges in education through AI. Their project, Ilmify, leverages AI to personalise learning experiences, generate smart summaries, and provide tools that help students optimise their academic performance.

The achievement reflects the interdisciplinary collaboration between students from the college’s departments, demonstrating their creativity, technical expertise, and commitment to developing innovative solutions with practical educational applications. It also underscores SQU's continued emphasis on fostering excellence in research, innovation, and emerging technologies.
