The College of Law has achieved an outstanding international academic success after its team secured first place in the Best Written Memorials category at the WIPO Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition 2026.

The achievement follows a highly competitive contest involving 215 teams from 50 countries. The SQU team distinguished itself through the exceptional quality of its legal research, analytical reasoning and legal drafting in one of the world’s leading competitions specialising in intellectual property law.

The college was represented by students Raghad bint Abdullah Al-Balushi and Ghazi bin Ali Al-Raisi. The team was supervised by Dr. Hafiz Jaafar Ibrahim, Dr. Mohammed Kamal Abu Zaid, and Dr. Mufid Al-Khouri.
