SQU has signed a cooperation agreement with CESI Oman aimed at strengthening academic, research and technical collaboration in the fields of energy, smart grids and advanced engineering technologies. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of Oman Sustainability Week, held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The agreement was signed on behalf of SQU by Professor Amer bin Saif Al-Hinai, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research, while it was signed on behalf of the company by Pierluigi Vicini, General Manager of CESI Oman.

The agreement comes as part of SQU’s efforts to support scientific research and innovation in sustainable energy. The collaboration will be implemented through the Sustainable Energy Research Centre, contributing to the development of advanced technological solutions that serve the energy sector and support the transition towards smart and sustainable systems.

The agreement focuses on enhancing cooperation in electrical power systems and smart grids through the exchange of scientific and technical expertise, as well as the organisation of specialised seminars, workshops and lectures.

This collaboration is expected to contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and reliability of energy systems, support the transition towards smart and sustainable grids, and strengthen academic and research activities of mutual interest between both parties.

The agreement also provides opportunities for students and researchers to participate in projects and applied activities, helping to enhance practical skills, support innovation and knowledge transfer, and contribute to the development of national capabilities in the fields of energy and modern electrical technologies.
