Education University of Hong Kong Delegation Visits SQU

A delegation from the Education University of Hong Kong, led by Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, President of the University, visited Sultan Qaboos University today. The delegation was received by His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, the Vice-Chancellor, in the presence of a number of deans, academics and university officials.


During the meeting, His Highness the Vice-Chancellor warmly welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of SQU, highlighting its historical development, national role in higher education, and contribution to the promotion and preservation of the Omani culture. He outlined the University’s academic structure, including its colleges and research centres, and reviewed key milestones in its institutional growth. His Highness also referred to the University’s performance in international rankings, as well as the rankings achieved by several of its colleges.


His Highness further highlighted SQU’s existing research initiatives, student exchange programmes, and memoranda of understanding with universities and research institutions around the world, reaffirming SQU’s openness to expanding international cooperation and establishing new academic partnerships.


For his part, Professor John Lee Chi-Kin emphasised the importance of integrating education with cultural sustainability, noting that education plays a central role in shaping identity and preserving cultural values.


The meeting concluded with both sides underscoring the importance of identifying areas of mutual interest and exploring opportunities for joint projects and future collaboration.
