SQU, Qatar Biomedical Research Institute Join Hands
On Sunday, 26 January 2020, Sultan Qaboos University, represented by the Medical Research Center, signed a letter of understanding with the Qatar Biomedical Research Institute at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Khalid bin Humaid Al-Rasadi, Director of the Medical Research Center, SQU and Dr. Omar Al-Anjaf, Executive Director Qatar Biomedical Research Institute at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. The agreement was signed to build cooperation and partnership in the fields of Education, Research as well as promoting interdisciplinary research in autism.
The letter of understanding includes organizing joint workshops, symposia and conferences, mutual use of available services for both sides based on the current policies, as well as conducting collaborative research projects in the field of autism, such as; "vital indicators, proliferation, eye tracking and genetics"
The letter also included the exchange of professional and technical experiences between researchers and specialists as well as cooperation through providing internal training for Sultan Qaboos University students and providing vocational training in the required field of expertise in addition to joint publications.
Qatar Biomedical Research Institute is a global center for biomedical research and other research that transfer the outputs of clinical trials into medical techniques and tools. The institute aims to improve medical care through innovation in ways to prevent diseases that affect the Qatari population and residents of the region, and ways to diagnose and treat them, in order to improve personal medicine and health care. The Institute also runs research centers in the areas of diabetes, neurological disorders and cancer.
