Vice-Chancellor Meets with Student Group Leaders
Sultan Qaboos University held this morning the twelfth meeting of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, the Vice-Chancellor, with students. His Highness met with the heads of student groups at Al-Fahm Hall. The meeting forms part of a series of regular discussion sessions aimed at strengthening communication between the University administration and its students, and empowering them to play an active role in enhancing campus life.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Nasser bin Musabbah Al-Zidi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Dr. Rayya bint Salim Al-Mandhri, Dean of Student Affairs; and Professor Hussein bin Ali Al-Kharousi, Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Community Service, along with a number of officials. The session was moderated by Jokha bint Ali Al-Ma’mari, Director of Communication and Media Department.
During the meeting, His Highness the Vice-Chancellor emphasised the importance of diligence and perseverance in achieving academic excellence. He noted that student activities are a key pillar in developing students’ skills and nurturing their talents, and called for maintaining open channels of communication between students and administrators at all levels.
The meeting also discussed several proposals aimed at improving the environment for student activities, including enhancing support for outstanding students, ensuring the sustainability of activities and their organisers, and helping identify and refine talents.
This meeting reflects SQU’s commitment to encouraging student participation in shaping development initiatives and promoting a culture of dialogue and collaboration within the University community.
