SQU and Huawei Oman Host Career Engagement Event

To emphasise collaboration between the academic and private sectors to build a knowledge-based economy in line with the Oman Vision 2040, The Centre for Career Guidance at Sultan Qaboos University, in collaboration with Huwaei Oman, organised an engagement event with SQU graduates specialised in information and communication technology. The initiative aimed to empower graduates to play an active role in advancing the ICT sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

Salim bin Rashid Al-Saidi, Director of the Centre for Career Guidance, welcomed the Huawei Oman team and commended the high calibre of SQU graduates across various disciplines, particularly in ICT.

During the event, Peng Chuan, Chief Financial Officer of Huawei Oman, delivered a presentation introducing the company’s activities and global reach. He highlighted that Huawei’s products and services benefit over three billion people worldwide and are delivered in more than 170 countries, including Oman.

Maher bin Talib Al-Waheedi, Human Resources Director at Huawei Oman, gave a detailed presentation on human capital development, training, and career opportunities within the company. He also shared success stories of SQU graduates who have built their careers at Huawei.

The event further included orientation sessions and guidance pathways led by Huawei’s specialised team. Graduates were also given the opportunity to participate in direct interviews with recruitment teams, explore available vacancies, and gain insight into potential career growth within the company.
