On Tuesday, 10 December 2019, the “Motivation and Parenting” research group at the Department of Psychology of the College of Education, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) organized a research forum entitled “Homework: Towards Positive and Creative Practices” under the patronage of H.H. Sayyid Dr. Fahad bin Al-Julanda Al-Said, Assistant Secretary General of Innovation Development at the Research Council.

Through a number of presentations, the forum addressed the psychological, social, educational and health aspects of homework. Researchers and academicians from SQU, Dhofar University, the Ministry of Education, Arab Open University, the State Council, and teachers from a number of government and private schools in Oman attended the forum. Dr. Saeed Sulaiman Al Dhafri, head of the research group, said that the participants discussed about good practices in homework and reducing the weight of schools bags by optimizing homework based on the best international practices and latest research findings.
