On Monday, 9 December 2019, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), represented by the Center for Human Resources Development organized a Forum on “Governance and the Future of Human Resources Development” under the patronage of H.E. Salem Muslim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Civil Service for Administrative Development. Senior officials from SQU administration and specialists in the field of human resources from public and private sectors attended the forum held at the University’s Cultural Centre premises.

This activities of the event shed light on corporate governance and its link to strategic plans, in line with the main pillars of the Sultanate's 2040 strategic plan. It sought to define the importance of performance indicators in achieving effectiveness and improving performance, and facilitate the follow-up of institutional performance through KPIs, which in turn facilitate the decision-making process of departments and units.

Eng. Salem bin Ali Al-Hinai, Director of the Center for Human Resources Development, in his welcome address, underscored the importance of the event. This event comes as an extension of the effective role played by the Center for Human Resources Development in promoting institutional values and the skills and capabilities of SQU employees in academic administrative and technical cadres through the provision of training courses, awareness programs and other activities.
