SQU Participates in Islamic World Universities Forum

A delegation from Sultan Qaboos University, represented by Professor Amer bin Saif Al-Hinai, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Adil bin Saud Al-Mahrouqi, Director of the Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research, participated in the Vice Chancellors’ Forum of Universities in the Islamic World. The forum is organised by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO) at its headquarters in Rabat, Morocco, in partnership with the Higher Education Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and in cooperation with the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World and Baku State University in Azerbaijan. It is held under the theme: “Reimagining Higher Education in the Islamic World: Innovation, Sustainability, and Global Impact.”

The two-day forum features high-level participation from several ministers and around 150 distinguished academics, including university vice-chancellors, deans, deputy deans, researchers, and experts from various higher education institutions across the Islamic world. The forum aims to explore the future of higher education, artificial intelligence, open and distance learning systems, and the role of public funding and resource mobilisation in achieving the vision of sustainable universities.
