SQU Delegation Continues Visit to the Russian Federation

Sultan Qaboos University has signed a cooperation programme with Kazan Federal University as part of an official visit to the Russian Federation, led by His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, the Vice-Chancellor. The visit, which continues until 30 May, includes Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for International Cooperation, along with the Deans of the Colleges of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, and Medicine and Health Sciences, as well as the Director of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre.

 

The cooperation programme includes provisions for strengthening student and academic exchange, conducting joint research in engineering, medicine, and agricultural sciences, as well as promoting cultural cooperation and collaboration in innovation and technology transfer.

It is worth noting that the ongoing cooperation between the two universities has led to the participation of over 120 Kazan University students in cultural exchange and training programmes over the past two years. The partnership has also included collaboration in the oil and gas sector and in joint research initiatives.

 

In a separate engagement, the SQU delegation visited the Kazan State Agrarian University, where discussions focused on ways to enhance collaboration in agricultural sciences and applied research. Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in agricultural innovation and research expertise exchange.

His Highness the Vice-Chancellor emphasised during these meetings the importance of establishing new academic and research partnerships that contribute to knowledge exchange and the advancement of research capabilities on both sides. Officials at the Russian universities welcomed the collaboration, underscoring its significance in strengthening academic ties between the two countries.

 

The SQU delegation continues its visit to the Russian Federation, with further scheduled visits to a number of prestigious universities in the capital, Moscow, as part of the University’s efforts to expand its global partnership network.
