SQU Riwaq: Future of Knowledge in a Digital World
SQU is participating in the 29th edition in the Muscat International Book Fair, which opened this morning at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, the Vice Chancellor, with the attendance of a number of their excellencies, writers, intellectuals, and media professionals. The event features a diverse cultural programme that reflects the literary and intellectual vitality in the Sultanate of Oman and strengthens its presence on the regional and international cultural scene.
The University is taking part in the fair under the theme “SQU Riwaq: The Future of Knowledge in a Digital World,” reaffirming its pioneering role in disseminating knowledge, promoting innovation, and fostering effective engagement with all segments of society. This participation embodies SQU’s vision as an academic institution striving to keep pace with rapid digital transformations and redefine the production and dissemination of knowledge in the modern age.
Amid these swift technological developments, the University aims to offer academic and cultural content that reflects current knowledge trends, leveraging digital media to convey its message. The “SQU Riwaq” aspires to be an open space for dialogue and interaction, showcasing the University’s key publications and addressing timely issues through strategic perspectives that contribute to building a more inclusive knowledge future. It presents 91 publications, including 28 titles from the Omani Studies Centre and 63 from the Department of Academic Publishing and Outreach at the Deanship of Research, among which are 9 new releases, 8 from the Deanship of Research and 1 from the Omani Studies Centre, demonstrating SQU’s continued academic and cultural output.
As part of the fair, SQU is organising a rich programme of cultural and academic events, reflecting its commitment to serving knowledge and engaging with the wider community. These activities are designed to appeal to a broad audience, from specialists and cultural enthusiasts to school students and the wider public.
