As part of its humanitarian and social efforts, the Centre for Community Service and Continuing Education is set to launch its annual "Eid Gift" initiative on 27 March 2025. This initiative aims to bring joy to children undergoing treatment at the University Hospital and the Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre at the University Medical City, allowing them to share in the festive spirit of Eid al-Fitr.

The initiative involves distributing Eid gifts to hospitalised children, with a team of volunteers from university students and a group of students from Aisha bint Masood Al-Amri School in Seeb visiting the children at the hospital and medical centre. During their visit, they will present gifts and greeting cards, fostering an atmosphere of love and warmth.

Dr. Rahima bint Mubarak Al-Jabri, Head of the Community Service Section at the centre, emphasised that this initiative reflects the centre’s ongoing commitment to supporting patients and bringing happiness to their hearts, particularly children facing serious health challenges. She highlighted that Eid is a time of celebration, and it is the centre’s duty to be part of this joy and help spread it among everyone. She also stressed that the initiative serves as a message of psychological and emotional support to the children and their families, reassuring them that society stands with them and cares about their happiness and well-being.

This initiative is part of a series of community projects implemented by the Community Service Centre at SQU, aimed at promoting values of solidarity and social responsibility. It also seeks to encourage students and university members to contribute meaningfully to society through impactful and tangible actions.
