Qatar University Hosts Joint Committee Meeting with SQU

Qatar University hosted the 2025 meeting of the Joint Committee between Sultan Qaboos University and Qatar University, chaired by Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for International Cooperation, alongside Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Erbad, Vice President of Qatar University for Research and Graduate Studies. The meeting was attended by committee members from both universities, where they reviewed the outcomes of jointly funded research projects, discussed key challenges, and explored ways to enhance collaboration across various research fields. The discussions also covered the exchange of visits between researchers and academics, as well as student training exchanges in disciplines such as engineering, medicine, economics, media, and tourism.

Both parties examined opportunities for collaboration in sharing expertise on areas of mutual interest, including the organisation of joint scientific and research seminars and the engagement of researchers and students.

In her opening remarks, Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said emphasised the significance of academic and scientific partnerships between institutions, highlighting that such meetings contribute to the exchange of knowledge and expertise while paving the way for new avenues of research cooperation that align with national and regional priorities.

During the meeting, both sides agreed on a joint action plan. Concluding the committee’s proceedings, the participants commended the importance of these engagements in advancing scientific research and academic development, expressing their aspirations for further achievements in the coming years.
