To enhance communication between students, graduates, and the labour market, SQU has launched the 2025 Career Fair, organised by the Centre for Career Guidance. More than 40 institutions from various vocational and guidance sectors are participating in the event.
His Excellency Khalid bin Salim Al-Ghammari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour, inaugurated the fair at the Grand Hall in the Cultural Centre. The fair will be open from 21 to 23 February 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
SQU’s Career Fair is an annual event that provides a platform for direct communication between students, graduates, and labour sectors. Its objectives include promoting SQU graduates to various institutions, introducing university academic programmes to these institutions, facilitating connections between students, graduates, and employers to secure job and training opportunities, supporting Omanisation planning and initiatives across different sectors, and familiarising students and graduates with workplace environments and labour market requirements.
This year, 33 institutions from diverse sectors are participating, alongside seven guidance institutions.
The fair also features accompanying events designed to enhance students’ and graduates' job-seeking skills. These include a workshop titled How to Enhance Your Career Opportunities at the SQU Career Fair?, presented by the Centre for Career Guidance staff, as well as the CV Clinic. In these sessions, human resources experts, in collaboration with the Omani Society for Human Resource Management, assist students and graduates in refining their CVs and offer advice on best practices for preparing and developing them. Additionally, a dedicated space is available for institutions wishing to conduct job interviews during the fair. A guidance corner will also be available to support successful career planning, helping students and graduates shape their career paths effectively.
The 2025 SQU Career Fair presents a valuable opportunity for students and graduates to explore career and training prospects, understand market demands, and establish professional connections with various career institutions. Attendees can also benefit from the accompanying events, which will aid in developing their professional skills and preparing them for the labour market.
The fair will be open from 21 to 23 February 2025, welcoming students and graduates to take advantage of the opportunities it offers.
