Amal Al-Ismaili Wins Enjoia’t Award

Amal bint Salim Al-Ismaili, a lecturer in the Department of Art Education of the College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University received the Enjoia’t Award in its 25th edition for the year 2019. As many as 200 participants from different countries participated at the competition. Al-Ismaili’s work ‘Saqal Pendant’ qualified her for the award along with three other artists. Amal Al-Ismaili is the first Omani and Arab to win this award presented by the A-FAD Association of Artists and Artisans in Barcelona, Spain for excellence in contemporary jewelry design.

Participations are received from all over the world and the deadline for receiving is June of each year by filling out a form in which the artist will include the required details and the artwork he/she has chosen to participate in this competition. After receiving 200 artworks, 15 of them were selected, divided into two groups and then displayed them in one of the most famous contemporary art museums in Barcelona. Amal’s award winning work will be exhibited at one of the most renowned contemporary jewelry exhibitions in Barcelona in 2020.
