Dr. Suja Karkada, Assistant Professor, and Head of the Department of Fundamentals and Administration, College of Nursing, Sultan Qaboos University was recognized as one among the “100 Most Dedicated Professors” by the “World Education Congress”. Dr. Suja was honored at a ceremony organized by World Education Congress on 4 July 2019 at Taj Lands end, Mumbai, India. The theme of the congress was “reorienting education for a sustainable future”.

Dr. Suja Karkada completed the Basic BSc Nursing from Govt. College of Nursing, Bangalore in 1992, and joined teaching profession. She worked in Manipal University, India, from 1995 -2011 and completed MSN (1998), M.Phil Nursing (2002) and PhD (2010). After working in UAE at RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, College of Nursing for a period of 3 years from 2011, Dr. Suja joined SQU in September 2014. She is an approved master’s supervisor at SQU, has authored 34 publications in journals, and currently conducting four research studies, all of them are funded by the University. Dr. Suja has supervised 35 postgraduate theses in India and abroad, examined around 80 research students at PhD, MPhil and MSN level.

The 100 Most Dedicated Professors is intensely researched process undertaken by the research cell, which consists of Post Graduates in History & Management with over 5 year research experience posts their studies. It is the iconic job of the research cell to produce a shortlist of individuals who are doing extraordinary work and track the record of their achievements. The shortlist is then reviewed by a Jury comprising of senior professionals from across the globe.
