On Saturday, 20 April 2019, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University held its retreat to discuss, analyze and debate accreditation related matters. The event commenced with the opening speech by Dr. Mohammed Al Badi, Head of Department of Electrical Engineering at SQU.The staff members actively participated in both, open and focused discussions. In the second half of the session, Prof. Hadj Bourdoucen, Dean, College of Engineering at SQU presented the vision and directions for major review and update to the curriculum of all the programmes offered by the College of Engineering. In the end, interactive round table meetings were conducted to discuss the ways to modernize the curriculum of the ECE tracks offered by the ECE Department. The final session was to propose steps towards the development of the new ECE program if deemed necessary.
