Vice Chancellor Concludes Visit to Australia

H.E. Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, the Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University and his accompanying delegation concluded their visit to universities, scientific, research and academic institutions in Australia. The visit comes within the internationalization activities of the university through which it seeks to enhance cooperation with leading universities and research institutions in various countries across the world.

The SQU delegation to Australia consisted of H.H. Sayyidah Dr. Mona bint Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation, Dr. Sami Salem Al Kharousi, Assistant Dean for Training & Community Service at the College of Economics & Political Science, Dr. Tareq Mohiuddin, Associate Professor in Physics Department at the College of Science and Salahddin Al Saadi, Director of the Office of International Cooperation.

The visit is a continuation of the cooperation between Sultan Qaboos University and Edith Cowan University (ECU) and the University of Monash. During the visit, a letter of understanding was signed with ECU through which the two sides would work on a range of activities including exchange of students and faculty in the fields of engineering and economics. It was also agreed to cooperate in joint research in the field of monitoring the profession of teaching in the Sultanate's schools through a research conducted by Sultan Qaboos University under the supervision of H.E. Dr. Ali Al Bimani.

The delegation visited the University of Monash, and discussed the progress of joint research and the exchange of dialogue on the best practices in research. University of Monash officials welcomed cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University in various fields, including nanotechnology, engineering, science and economics.

The delegation came up with a set of points that would be worked out during the coming period through an action plan supervised by the International Cooperation Office at Sultan Qaboos University.
