The 16th edition of the Business Week organized by the Business Society at the College of Economics and Political Science at SQU commenced at the Grand Hall of the Cultural Center of the University on Sunday, 17 March 2019 under the patronage of H.E. Tahir Bin Salim Bin Abdullah Al Amri, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman. Through this four-day event, focusing on the theme “the effects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the economy”, the members of the Business Society, who are students of the College of Economics & Political Science at SQU, seek to disseminate knowledge on the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the economy, the job market, privacy, and business majors.

The Business Week is organized at SQU in order to give students the opportunity to share their thoughts and recommendations and conduct studies in order to find new ways to manage the economy and provide the most suitable platform for experts and specialists to share and exchange knowledge and experiences. The Business Week targets a large audience of students, academic supervisors, representatives from business organizations and all others who are interested in business.

Dr. Khamis bin Hamed Al-Yahyaee, Dean of the College of Economics and Political Science said that the College organizes this event annually, to discuss current economic, business and political issues by highlighting the student projects to exchange knowledge and experiences.

The activities and the exhibition organize as part of the 16th Business Week seeks to explain the Fourth Industrial Revolution, its effects on the economy, and propose ideas and innovations that serve the needs of time. “This would help improve the visitors’ perspective of the fourth industrial revolution to create a well-informed and knowledgeable community to tackle the challenges and make use of the opportunities”, the Dean said.
