Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrooqi, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies & Research at Sultan Qaboos University chaired a meeting between officials of Sultan Qaboos University and BP Oman that discussed BP Oman research grants to SQU. The meeting, held at the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor earlier this week, was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Wahibi, Dean of Research, Dr. Khalid Al Balushi, Assistant Dean of Research and Nasser Al Sheibani, Deputy Director, Research Department at SQU. The representatives from BP Oman included Eng. Khalid Al Kindi, VP Government Relations, Khalid Al Maharbi, Well Site Leader, Issa Al-Mawali, Financial Operations Manager and Shamsa Al-Rawahi, Social Investment Manager.

The meeting approved two research projects that will receive BP grant for the year 2019. The partnership between SQU and BP Oman as a research-funding programme has started back in 2016; which aims to provide financial support for faculty and researchers at SQU who wish to pursue research projects in the area of Energy Sustainability.
