Sultan Qaboos University participates in the 24th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair that is held from 21 February to 3 March 2019 at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The University is represented through a special platform at the exhibition. The university’s corner holds various sessions, workshops for adults and children and other activities. The University's corner have prepared a program to promote the culture of reading and writing among the visitors.

This year, 73 titles (21 in English and 4 new publications) are showcased by the University. Four units of the University namely, the Public Relations and Information Department, the Department of Publication & Outreach, the Main Library, and the Center for Omani Studies collaborate to represent SQU at the Book Fair. During the exhibition, the University will organize various activities such as ‘Comics’, “Think outside the box”, ‘origami’, “Experience reading with Braille”, “Writing a film script from a book”, “How to photograph books”, etc.
