Public Speaking Contest: Student Teams Win Third Place

Sultan Qaboos University student teams have won third places in two categories of the 8th session of the annual inter-collegiate environmental public speaking competition organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) in Dubai. This competition is an ideal platform for students to enhance their public speaking and research skills. The competition aims to initiate discussions on current environmental issues like recycling, waste management, etc.

SQU team ‘Buniya’ (Structure), supervised by Dr. Bahja Al Riyami and consisted of students Buthaina Sultan Al Omari, Huraiya Rabea Al Huseini, Khoula Ali Al Amri and Maita Khalifa Al Shamsi, won third price in the category of “sustainable urban environment”.

The team ‘Nakah’ (Purity) supervised by Abdullah Suleiman Al Kindi, consisted of students Abeer Amer Al Jabri, Riam Mohammed Al Rumehi, Rahma Huwaishel Al Harrasi, Umaima Yaqoub Al Hadrami, and Jokha Mohammed Al Rawahi, bagged third price in the category of “impact of fashion and cosmetic industry on the environment”.
