Sultan Qaboos University signed a cooperation program with Al-Buraimi Solar Energy. This program between the College of Engineering at SQU, Al Buraimi Solar Energy Systems and associating companies Al-Wathbh Technical & Engineering Company and Sharklead Company seeks to promote cooperation in building competencies of both parties in areas of mutual interest.

The cooperation program seeks to strengthening national capacities in the fields of solar energy, production, design, development and manufacturing. It will encourage and involve students to develop solutions and techniques used to design and manufacture national product related to solar energy systems, and develop projects and provide technical consultancy to industry. As per the cooperation program, the two parties would contribute to the transfer of knowledge and solar energy systems technology in the Sultanate, and provide innovative solutions in the field of solar energy to relevant industries. The parties would work out joint practical solutions to provide more of solar energy to Sultan Qaboos University.

The joint program was signed by the H.E. Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, Vice Chancellor of the University and by Mr. Mansour bin Sulaiman Al Hilali, General Manager of Al Buraimi Solar Systems, in the presence of Prof. Hadj Bourdoucen, Dean of the College of Engineering, and program coordinators Dr. Rashid Said Al-Abri and Eng. Abdullah Omar Eidroos.
